Dr. Zachary Osterholz - Medical Director

Dr. Zachary Osterholz (or "Dr. O" to his furry friends) believes that exceptional veterinary care is built on trust, comfort, and community. A 2019 graduate of the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. O’s journey to medicine took him from the dairy farms of Wisconsin to the Serengeti of Tanzania and the Alaskan tundra. While he began his career in ecological research, he realized his true calling was the hands on magic of clinical animal medicine and honoring the special bond we share with our pets.

As the new Medical Director of VIDA Centennial, Dr. O is dedicated to ensuring that a visit to the clinic feels like a seamless extension of home. He is passionate about transforming the traditional veterinary experience into something warm, collaborative, and entirely stress free. By bringing a deeply personal, individualized touch to a beautiful, modern facility, he ensures that patients receive thorough, relaxed consultations and the highest standard of care. Dr. O holds a special soft spot for geriatric medicine, focusing on advanced pain management and quality of life care to keep senior companions comfortable, vibrant, and happy in their golden years.

Because he lives less than ten minutes down the road, Dr. O is proud to care for his own neighbors and be a true part of the local community. When he’s not at the clinic, you’ll find him fully embracing the Colorado lifestyle hiking and running in the Rockies, working on furniture projects in his woodshop, or trying his hand at the ceramics wheel. He shares his home with an eclectic animal crew of his own: Frank, a rescued black lab mix; Feta, a spunky orange kitty; and Fifi, a fluffy Samoyed princess who ensures there is never a shortage of white fur on his clothes.
